Accessibility statement

1.6.2023

The Tamar Regional Council considers the accessibility of its website to people with disabilities to be of utmost importance. An accessible website improves the comfort and ease of use for people with disabilities.

The site was built in accordance with the regulations on equal rights for people with disabilities (service accessibility adjustments), 2013-2013 and the W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0, level AA.

An accessible website is a website that allows people with disabilities and older people to surf with the same level of efficiency and enjoyment as surfers.

About 20 to 25 percent of the population encounter difficulties using the Internet and may benefit from more accessible Internet content, according to a study conducted in 2003 by the Microsoft company.

The Kivinim company believes in and works for equal opportunities in the Internet space for those with various disabilities and/or who use assistive technologies to use a computer.

Accessibility Coordinator at the Tamar Regional Council:

Avi Zagouri, phone: 050-6523017.

In case of a request/violation of the accessibility of this website, you can contact the email [email protected].

Below are some of the actions carried out as part of making the company’s website accessible:

  • The means of navigation and orientation on the site are simple and convenient to use.
  • The site’s contents are written in simple and clear language and are well organized using headings and lists.
  • A fixed and uniform structure for all the sub-sites and pages on the site.
  • Adapting the site to work environments with different resolutions.
  • The graphic objects have a textual alternative (alt).
  • The site allows changing the font size by using the side menu.
  • The links on the site are clear and contain an explanation of linked locations.
  • Option to change the size of the texts on the site using one of the accessibility bars.
  • Option to change the contrast of the site’s colours by clicking the contrast button on the site.
  • Adapting the site to reading software for the visually impaired.
  • Added focus frame to keyboard controlled elements.
  • Adding shortcuts to the main areas of the site by pressing TAB.
  • Option to pause animations on the site.

Accessibility restrictions.

It should be noted that despite our efforts to make all pages on the site accessible, it is possible that parts of the site that are not yet accessible will be identified by the user.

We continue our efforts to improve the site’s accessibility as part of our commitment to allow its use for the entire population.

The Tamar Regional Council strives to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for internet content accessibility.

We are doing our best to overcome the obstacles in making the site fully accessible.

The entire site was designed and built to meet the AA accessibility rating and all the accessibility adjustments that exist on the other pages of the site are also present on this page. However, there are pages where there is a component that does not meet the standard.

This component comes from an external website or alternatively originates from an information document that was built in an inaccessible manner.

There are pages on the site that are partially accessible due to the fact that they contain external text files/external links to websites/external audio clips/external videos without subtitles.
