A 12 km geological ridge of pure salt in the southern part of the Dead Sea. This is believed to be the location of the infamous biblical city of Sodom that perished together with Gomorrah. The ridge features a unique salt pillar named "Lot’s Wife", who as per Genesis 19-26, when looking back on the upheaval of the two evil cities - was turned into a pillar of salt. |
